All Desktop Icons Open at Once
We have been having the weirdest issues with two computers in our office. At seemingly random times every icon on the computer desktop opens and every application is represented by a rectangle button tabby thing. This happens on Windows XP.

I have a suggestion....switch to Linux.
(sorry for not having anything positive to say)
I agree, I use Linux at home but this is happening to a few computers at our office which unfortunately still have to be Windows.
sounds like spyware, & the block effect could be corrupt video drivers
